Featured Hotel of the Month

Each month I will feature a HOTEL OF THE MONTH which will be chosen for a reason and will also have info about facilities, rates and photos. All hotels I feature can be booked by me and I will always try to secure special rates that will equal or hopefully be lower than the rates you can secure yourself. Living here and having a local company and good relations with the hotels usually allows me to get preferential rates.

HOTEL CENTURY OLD TOWN (BOUTIQUE HOTEL)****

LOCATION, efficiency, good buffet breakfast – these are the main reasons I have featured this hotel. But if you want to be in an ideal central location well placed to visit the main places of interest in the Old and New town then you cannot beat this hotel. Just steps from the modern Palladium shopping centre and shopping streets and a 5 minute walk from Old Town Square.

I can get very reasonable rates and also note that this hotel is good for business visitors with conference facilities and is part of the ACCOR group of hotels guaranteeing a good standard and quality of service.Depending on season most months twin/double rooms can be booked for less than E.100-.

HOTEL PARIS *****  is a splendid Art Nouveau hotel which has changed little since it was built in 1904. The main reasons I have featured it and recommend it specially to my visitors are:

* Beautiful original art nouveau features and fittings with a wonderful restuarant and cafe.

* A1 location right next to the Municipal House and at the start of the Royal Route. The Palladium SHopping Centre is right opposite.

* You are in a deluxe family owned unique 5 star hotel but the rates are reasonable.

Hotel Paris offers luxury hotel rooms and suites in Prague with an exclusive view of Prague Old Town, furthermore a French and traditional Czech hotel restaurant, Parisian style Cafe de Paris  and the Chez des Amis bar. Hotel Paris also includes a relaxation centre Wellness and Spa in the heart of Prague city centre, where you can perhaps try an Ayurvedic massage.

Upon entering  you will be submerged by the splendour of the Hotel Paris. The stairway is probably one of the most elegant parts of the Hotel. The preserved window panels, with its rosette and citrus motives are complemented by hand painted motifs. The decorative cast-iron railing leading you to the  corridors are also an exquisite characteristic.

All 86 elegantly appointed guest rooms, uniquely styled and sized are equipped with air-conditioning, electronic safe, direct dial phone with voicemail, internet connection, colour Sat-TV, mini bar  and a smoke detector. Rooms are handsomely decorated and furnished with replicas of the original furniture, so no matter which room you choose to stay in, you will have the feeling of returning to the picturesque Art Nouveau era.

Hotel Paris’ Sarah Bernhardt restaurant is a truly exquisite architectural gem, which is named after the actress and singer Sarah Bernhardt. Art Nouveau interiors – blue cleft mosaics, original lighting fixtures, wooden wainscoting and gilded stuccowork, makes the hotel restaurant one of the most splendid gems of Prague restaurants. We recommend visiting it even if you are not a hotel guest. This restaurant offers a truly exclusive and romantic atmosphere in which you will feel like you are in another world.

PREVIOUS HOTELS OF THE MONTH

As it is Xmas next month I have chosen a deluxe hotel with an A1 location allowing you to enjoy the Xmas Market, decorations and events in Old Town Square. You can even book a room overlooking the square!

The hotel is on the right overlooking the historic square and large Xmas tree!

The Old Town Square Hotel is a small, family operated hotel, consisting of 10 spaceous and modern-design rooms in the heart of Prague. It offers comfortable and luxury accommodation in the centre of Prague, directly on the Old Town Square.

The hotel consists of 10 unique rooms comprising of 3 double rooms, 3 junior suites and 4 family suites, which are all designed to a 5* standard and furnished with modern design furniture.

Great location, big airy rooms, we had a balcony room with a view of the old town square that was just perfect.

Staff were very helpful and friendly and allowed us to check in early as the room was ready.

If you don’t want to stay in a chain hotel and want a bit of Czech Charm then this is the hotel for you.

Booked this hotel after spending some time reading reviews on trip advisor as we wanted something different. This hotel is fantastic as it is a mix of modern fittings with the buildings history. We had room 14 overlooking the square, the views over the square are an entertainment of their own and we could see most of the astronomical clock which kept us entertained and its chimes were quite soothing.

The room was very spacious and light with lovely high ceilings, really comfortable bed, amazing bathroom with a seperate toilet.

All of the staff were great and couldn’t do enough to help.
